Setting aside how horrible this is, I enjoy seeing the holes where they incorrectly installed it.
Also you normally show pretty expensive houses, why would anyone design it like this instead of just having an actual landing, or having an angled/curved railing for a little more money?
Additionally, are those stairs even flush against the wall? Looks like a big gap there...
